Black and white photo of Hanna at age 2 smiling and reading in bed

Me at age 2, enjoying one of my favorite activities, reading in bed.

In January 2004, I made a New Year's resolution to consume a book a day. The idea came from a factoid I heard about Theodore Roosevelt reading a book every day before breakfast. Impressive, huh? I thought so and endeavored to do the same... with mixed results. :-) What began as a quest for the written word soon grew to include the finer moments of the silver screen and then all consumables: books, movies, the performing arts (radio, theater), and even television (yes, there is something good on).

Today, I continue my near daily digest despite an ample schedule. Aided by my trusty stack of audiobooks (it's called multitasking) and the good ol' remote (some movies beg for fast forward), I keep up a brisk pace. Join me for a joyful frolick down the library aisles and see what turns up this week. James Joyce follows Frank N. Furter. Why not? Will Ferrel bests Truman Capote. It could happen. Comedy, drama, romance, histories of candy, and teenage wizards. It's all related.
