Low-budget (VERY low-budget) story of four astronauts in deep space, whose mission is to destroy unstable planets in star systems which are to be colonised.

Looks and plays like the film school graduation project it was. Perhaps the worse science fiction/space opera movie ever made. What alien? It's a beach ball! The best line: "Sgt. Pinback's uniforms do not fit me. The underwear is too loose." Believe it or not, O'Bannon (who played Sgt. Pinback, and would later write Alien) worked on special effects on the first Star Wars film, which was released only 2 years after Dark Star. But the degrees of separation don't stop here; there are far, far more worth following. If this film were remade today, the Foo Fighters and their hair would be a hands down casting choice for the crew. Posted: December 28, 2008 at 9:29 pm by Sylvhania
