A book so gritty and harsh, you soon wonder, "Why finish?" Real life is good, why pollute it with tales of thugs blowing each other's brains out. Yes, Ridley writes well, but guy, how 'bout a more uplifting subject matter? Like a Mapplethorpe photo. Perfect execution, but peeing on a cross? Hmmmm.
