Unlike today's starlets, Sophia Loren and her spectacular looks only enhance an already good story instead of having to carry a bad one. What makes this movie great is that it is cooked to perfection, not overdone. No fancy special effects, no big names (Loren was not yet a star), just story, characters, location (duh, the basic ingredients modern blockbusters treat as fluff instead of foundation). Julie London's mesmerizing theme song doesn't hurt either. Posted: November 29, 2006 at 8:54 pm by H. Kutcher
